Groups and resources in our community
Woodline highly values our place in and our connection to our local community. We have partnerships with the following organisations.
Our Woodline Family Association is a beautiful opportunity for families to connect and contribute. The WFA serves two main functions, to arrange social events and fundraising. These events may include Trivia Nights, Ritual Gatherings, Chai and Cake Afternoons and Offsite Social Gatherings. Each Learning Group has a Group Representative who also fosters connection amongst families.
Established in 2023, Woodline’s playgroup offering was designed to provide a safe a nurturing space aligned to the Primary Schools philosophy. It was a connection of younger siblings. A connection for children entering Woodline in Foundation the following year. A connection to the wider community.
The children who attended playgroup were able connection with our playgroup Guide and family helpers. They were able to immerse themselves in imaginative play, messy play, play utilising design and loose parts, creative play and nature play. Through hours of play here at Woodline the children have worked collaboratively, shared ideas and formed strong connects with one and another.
Once a week caregivers would tend to our veggie garden, harmony sanctuary, compost and general garden care. It has been a wonderful addition to our community and a great opportunity for families to connect whilst providing care and love to our grounds.
We value opportunities for connection and passions to be fostered. Children and their families are invited to join in our Running Club and Choir.
Intergenerational connections are mutually beneficial for both the chidlren and the elderly. This provides an opportunity to learn from each other, experience joy and foster social and emotional skills. The children enjoy partaking in activities with the residents such as board games, reading, art and craft and dancing.
REAIE draws on the Reggio Emilia Educational Project as the ongoing catalyst for thinking, research and advocacy in Australian educational settings.
We know that children are born with amazing potential and capacities: curiosity, a drive to understand, the ability to wait, to wonder and to be amazed, the capacity to express themselves in many ways. What kind of schools and what kind of teachers do we need to support these capacities in all children?
REAIE believes that the schools in Reggio Emilia demonstrate what is possible when a society that values human potential, relationships and the power of imagination, educates its children.
Since participating in the 2023 Fighting Extinction showcase, Woodline has continued its relationship with Zoos Victoria. Working closely with Groups, the focus is taking meaningful actions for wildlife. We have collaborated on projects such as the Harmony Garden which focused on ways to attrack butterflies to the area.
